I hope ya have fun with yer lil' XS. I think that they are cool little bikes, not terribly powerful but they handle tolerably well. There is nothing like the triple wail - the sound of three cylinders at high RPM can make the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Here's mine. She got a right-proper thrashing today...

Nice job on that one. I know what you mean about those triples. When I had my Midnight 1100, my neighbor at the time had an XS850 Triple Midnight. When we went riding he would stay right with me until about 4th gear then I'd start to pull away, in 5th gear I was gone. But that bike had a great balanced feel to the engine when I rode it, and the sound was something out if science fiction. They are very unique. Is your bike on you tube? I'm adding it to my collection of Triple photos.

Alright, Merry Christmas to me. I just went and picked up a 79' XS750 Special. So now I have a special and a standard. This bike is worse than the one I have but more complete and without title. I now have gauges, carbs, controls, and cables to replace the ones I used for my XJ. The tank on this bike is hammered in on one side with about 1/2 inch of bondo starting to fall off of it, and is rusted out badly, so I will cut that tank instead since it's pretty much garbage. The XS650 tank will live to see another day. If anyone is interested in the final drive, kick start, 18" rear wheel etc... Let me know. I also still have XJ parts for sale including the side covers, and a nice set of gauges. Check in the sales threads for both. I need money for my bikes.

I think I hate the Triples Forum. What a mess. Somebody needs to tell the mods that complexity is not helping.
