  • Suzuki GS1000 with "Alphabet" exhaust

My older brother had an itch for a 70s big bore inline 4. He likes his Ninja 900 but wants to add some nostalga. He picked up the 79 GS1000E for $900. It runs great. We already tore it down and will make it look stock or maybe day 2 (Maier cafe fairing) The bike has an Alphabet brand name 4 into 2 exhaust. Man am I jealous of the sound! This thing has a commanding but not overly loud snarl to it. It really sounds nice. Its the sound I hoped the Harley mufflers I put on my XS11 would provide. The bike is gonna get a good going over. I already sandblasted 6 layers primer/paint from the tank down to bare metal.

I got a ballpark estimate via email/pics to have the exhaust ceramic coated in black- $180 -$200. Its a place about 19 miles from my home so I will bring it there for them to actually see it. I have been working on the tank- loos like it was in a hailstorm after I blasted it. Skimming it with filler. The engine will be done in satin black and ALL those STUPID phillips (JIS?) head case cover and head cover bolts will be replaced with stainless allen head bolts. Its nice doing a bike where money is not a problem!!!! My brother is paying me to do his bike.
