  • XS 1100G standard vs FJR1300

Anyone out there can give me info on the similiarities or differences betwen the XS11 and the FJR1300. I know that the 1300 is newer and much faster.

I think I can name the similarities:
    1. They both say Yamaha on them.
    2. They are both over 1,000 cc.
    3. I want them both desperately.

      FJR vs XS11

Turbo Dave, get a hold of Dino k. He is on the forum membership list. He at moment he owns both of the bikes that you mentioned. I talked to him at the PNW XS rally last August. He was riding his new FJR with about 800km on it. In fact it was so new it was not even registered. He was running it on a transfer sticker. It was gorgeous, fast fast, comfortable and quiet. Only complaint at that time was excessive engine heat flowing over your legs from the rad. Would be OK in colder clime's but hell in Texas.

          FJR1300

Gary Granger AKA: 66, did a thread on that bike and rated it on this fourm not to long ago do a search for Fjr 1300 and you should be able to find it. He also mentioned the heat from the motor as a note in his thread. The bike was rated quite well but it did have its negatives HTH.........MITCH

            Hi Dave

            Don't you have both?
I ran across one of your posts in Delphiforms. I saw pictures of your XS and some other bikes.

But yes I have both as well. The two bikes can not be compared. They both have drive shafts.... and they are both made by Yamaha. that's it.

Tom, last summer i was doing 210 klms per hour thought i had the world by the tail, when this blueish grey streak flew by me, it happened to be an FJR, as i found out at the next gas station!! Very nice, he even gave me a show when we left pulling a wheelie in second and third ( showoff) lol ....MITCH

As far as I can see... FJR doesn't offer that much more than a ZZR-1200, costs a lot more tho...
