  • A few project bikes for the future

So after I finish my 79F that's in my living room I have 2 bikes already lined up to bring back to life. I was wondering if anyone had any advice for either. First is a 1984 Yamaha Xt250 enduro. Been sitting in our shop for around 15 years. Just has a stator problem and whatever else after 15 years. And over the weekend I picked up a 1976 Kawasaki KZ400 at a garage sale

All in all she's in pretty good condition. Have to title 42 first. I gave 160 bucks for it so I'm happy about that. Came without keys but I found the key code on the seat lock and had key-men.com make one from the number(they even have codes for our xs'). Most of the parts for this bike are cheap on eBay so it should be a breeze.

That 400 might make a good candidate for a cafe racer.

I think the PO was planning that since he already replaced the bars and took the tach off of it. I've read up on them and that seems to be a popular route. I haven't decided if I'll do it but I'm still entertaining the idea

+1 on the cafe racer! I saw that pic and that was the first thing that popped into my mind.

The KZ400 is a cool looking bike. I have two of them that I plan on using to make a nice cafe racer from.
