in which bike are you referring to in your comparison? As I like the ride of my XS11 there is something to be said about the ride of a, fully tuned, fully adjustable sport bike suspension. As they are not for everyone I don't suggest everyone should go out and buy one. But if you look in my signature you'll see I have a long standing history with sport bikes... I personally think the FJR is the bridge to gap my favorite bikes. Its Like my R1 and my XS had a love child.

But like previously stated its hard for me to give up my R1. There is something very primal about laying on a 436 LB, 160 HP, 1000cc Rocket on wheels....

The guy I bought my Ducati from years back was offing it to get some BMW 1400... I think it was like what the cops ride around here. Nice looking bike. But I'm not a fan of BMW car or bikes. If and when you do encounter a problem with one they are so OVER engineered that working on it yourself may be fairly difficult. YMMV of course

I'm a pretty loyal Yamaha guy. I've strayed from time to time, but I always seem to find my way back to the tuning forks

If anyone is interested, I'll probably be selling my 2003 FZ1 with <10k on it and the sweet 1980 XS1100 with < 10k that I just finished restoring. I am trying to buy an old 82 Honda CBX and need to make some room in my shop. PM me if anyone is interested. Pic's are under my signature.

Well.. You could fly down here and ride it back. I think that would be a real fun trip. The picture really does not do it justice! You can always have it shipped.

I don't think I could afford the Divorce that would follow if I bought another bike right now... especially traveling that far for one.

the XS isn't a very short bike either my friend. I have long legs and sometimes it can be a bear to back up. But I also run air shocks so I would assume the rear of my bike is a little taller than stock. And the touring seat is pretty high also.

That is true, and I Wish I could shave a couple inches off my XS as well. With that being said, I can't imagine any of the ST models being anything but worse height wise. And of course, no bike dealer within an hour drive has any STs on the showroom floor, so I can't really say for sure one way or another.
