  • Hyosung Comet GT 600

    You guys heard of it?

Got an interesting price tag... bout $4300 US here... for a new one.
AFAIK its got a suzuki V2 8 valve watercooled engine (borrowed from the SV650), disc brakes, upside-down front forks, 17L gas tank, 5 speed gearbox, etc... read somewhere it even has ABS brakes.
A sweet price for a new bike with all the stuff its got. Too bad it aint a 1000cc.
Doesnt really have all the ponies one wants, but with a bit of tuning....
Seen any imported to the US?

    Here is a

It's also only a 600......made to compete directly with the Suzuki SV650. As for looks, it looks like an SV650 as well. I saw in the MC mags the the Chinese and Korean bikes were coming but have not seen or heard anything around here.

I watched some production bike races the other day and got surprised at how fast the sv650's were. I was thinking oh yeah - just another boring 650 v-twin - but they were bloody quick.

Dunno if the info is correct, but its a 650, 54kW (cca 73-74HP), top speed should be bout 130-140mph...
          I rode a SV650... nice.
All I want on a comet is a nice fairing and I start saving today

Some french guys did a comparison.... Comet 650 vs. suzuki SV650. About evenly matched, handling and all.... with the comet a LOT cheaper. And they took off the ABS... DOH!
