      Virago is Here

I picked up the Virago tonight great guy original owne.r Can't wait to start working on it. Thanks for the starter fix it will be first order sounds like it is tearing up the entire engine. Otherwise looks like mostly minor things. It was well taken care of. This is exactly what we were looking for. I woud like to repaint back to original colo.r The colorrite site did not go back to 81 Any sources?

          2nd Gen Starter Swap Parts

          Hi Gordon,
Glad to see You found a bike for Your Daughter.
These Viragos are chosen by a lot of women on account of their low seat height and the bike is skinnier 'cause of the V-twin which allows it to be ergonomically friendly.
My '84 XV 700 sits lower than my '83 XJ 750 Mid Max but '84 was the year Yamaha changed the styling of the Virago to resemble HD.

Here is a pic of the parts needed for the starter upgrade:

The parts I secured for my '84 XV 700 starter upgrade came from a '85 XV 1000. That's what's cool about these engines, a lot of parts fit on the different sizes and years.
Viragotech.com is a great source for info.

          1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
          1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
          1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
          1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.
