  • My Savage bobber project

Hi guys, I've been busy for a little while with this latest project. I started with a 2003 Savage with 1200 miles on it. I stripped it down and started over. Here's where I'm at now.

    What do you guys think?

Thanks Phil. As far as the brake lever that's actually the linkage that will be hooked up to the brake lever when I get it rechromed. This is my first "build" and I'm pretty happy with how it's coming out. It's amazing what you can do with a grinder and a welder. I actually learned how to weld during this project!

Clean build to "keep one on the road"!................BTW, so is that shop...............or maybe just give it some time and more builds. Still, nice and kept simple.........

            Hi Rider,
I think the Ryca version looks better:-

But yours is neatly done and you did keep the rear suspension, eh?
I'd suppose the truth in advertising guys finally caught up to the "Savage" name not being appropriate for a well-mannered low-powered starter bike because it's now called the "Boulevard".
Which name don't promise anything except that the bike is street legal.
A more apt name would be "Suzuki Softie" or more brutally true, "Suzuki Sluggard" but those wouldn't sell well at all.
BTW, us cynical old farts would reckon that your shop is so clean because you've not been in it for very long.

Thanks for all the positive remarks. And yes, I haven't been in it very long, only 42 year and 41 bikes, second Savage and second XS1100 too.
