Does anyone know a source for a 1979 XS 650 Special grab rail? The PO cut this one off for some reason.

That's a tough one. There's no reproduction available. Sign up at XS650.com. There are plenty of chopper builders over there and they throw that stuff away. There's always eBay as well.

I bought this with the understanding it would fit my '77D and it didn't but it fits my '81 parts bike so it may just fit yours.

That grab bar came on the XS650 Special in '78 & '79. The same one was on the Special II from '78 thru '80. The standards had it as well, but it isn't the same. If you don't know what that came off, you might not know until you try it.

That seat you're modeling with came with the aluminum grab bar. That's a '80-'84 seat.
