  • Xs 750

    Hi to all.
I have been reading a yammie 750 parts book and it lists under alternatives a spoked rim for the 750D model Front and Rear. Anyone have any knowledge of. It quotes yamaha part numbers so I guess it is OEM

I also belong to the triples group (XS750/850). Occasionally the topic of wire spoked wheels comes up. I think that early European models had the wire spoked wheels. All others had cast mags. I'll ask the other list and let you know.
I do know that the wire spoked wheels are rather hard to find anymore.
I'm not sure the hubs will adapt to the 1100, you can lace any rim you want to it tho to get the correct / desired tire size.

The experts on the triple site say it's a Yamaha GS750 with the wire wheels

        Hi Pat
I am not taking you to task here. In the parts book the hub is numbered as IJ7-25311-00. From my understanding that prefix is for XS 750. This is just a curiosity because I wondered if this is a still a shaft drive set up

It just might be a shaftie. The person with the answer said he was going to post a pick of GS wheels on his triple. Don't know if they'd fit an 1100.

                  gx750

Hi Pat. Been looking about on the electric memory.
Found some pictures of the GX750. By appearance an XS with wire wheels, manufactured from '76 to '80.
It appears to have been a parallel model, having said that it is only an observation and is not supported.
If one of the Mensa people out there can let me know how to decipher the Japanese/Asian sites I may be able to proceed further. There seems to also be info in Russian??? perhaps. I am but a humble carpenter skilled in arguing with architects and engineers.

                      GX750

Its late. My brain has switched to paragraph mode.
I found the different models in a VJMC Model code list and some photos when I searched on Google
