  • Workin' On the 750 Cafe

Just finished the tailpiece and wanted to see how it looked in the sun. Put the clear on today, in a week or so I'll hit it with the polishing compound and a good coat of wax.

This is the first attempt at fabricating bodtwork. Cut it out with the tin snips and welded it up. Kinda tough for an amateur considering it was 24 ga sheet metal. Holes just seem to appear when you I pick up the MIG.

Gonna build a fork brace, but first is a seat!

Looks fantastic! You did the prep and paint yourself? Very admirable. I traded my XS750 triple and (some $$) for my 1100. I miss that narrow 3 cyl engine. You sir are a fabricating artist!!

Thanks. I taped a piece of foam on the frame rails and took it out in the canyons for a little run. The suspension upgrades (and new tires!) have definitely improved the handling. She turns into the corners a bit sharper and quicker. Not enough to be twitchy, took her up to around ninety on the straight and drove hard out of corners with no head shake or wobble.

Not a bad ride for a 35 year old machine!
