As stated above,don't waste your money on a sporty, the guy next door has one and I like to work on my XS, he HAS to work on his sporty. It breaks down all the time. Dyna's are really nice, may even buy one sometime.

Don't know quite what to say, bought my 1200 Sporster Custom new in 2005, was in shop 1 time to "reflash" the computer in the first year to cure an electronics gremlin. That is the only problem I have had with the bike. Only have 25,000km on it, ride to work, short trips, longer trips, and it is always reliable. It is not the most comfortable but it is fun to ride, for comfort I would look at a Dyna. Maybe I just like "X" bikes? XL 1200 Harley, XS 1100 Yamaha.

I would say that Sporsters don't hold value like the Big twins, as there are lots more of them. This can work both ways as you can get some good deals on late model Sporsters. (Except in Canada apparently but that is another issue).

Anyway the initial inquiry specifically exempted the Sporster, looking for more comfort. If I were looking for more comfort I would look for some variation of a Dyna.
