  • V-Max seat height

Haven't posted in some time, but have been dreaming of selling my little XS400 and my 66 Impala and getting a V-Max, a bike I've wanted for years. I had a XS-1100 Midnight Special some 10 years ago. But sold it and moved to NY. 2 years ago a friend gave me the 400, which I turned into a rat. It is a fun little bike. Part of me is afraid of giving up a 350 lb bike that gets 55+ MPG and is a blast to shoot around town in. Plus I've already lowered this little bike. I am a big guy with short legs (30" inseam). My 1100 was tall for me and I had the seat redone which helped. Anyway, I'm wondering how the V-Max (not a new one, say 85-98) would compare.

    Regards,

    Hi Tony,
Clymers sez the XS11 Special's seat height is 31.7" and Google puts the V-Max seat height at 30.5"
    There's this little article, too:-

Keep the 400, you'll like having two bikes in the garage. You should be able to get a couple of used V-maxes for one '66 Impala! Got a pic of the American musclecar?

Thanks for the comments. No takers on the Impala, but I had the price set high. Seems that few are buying now, probably because of the economy. I've seen the same bikes on CL over and over again. Some nice ones, too. Pics of my Chevy here: http://www.tonybartolucci.com/VEHICLES/Chevy/chevy.htm.
