  • honda 650?

I was fueling up tonight and noticed a "different" looking Honda.

I caught the word Honda and 650 but could not see what two letters proceeded the 650. The engine appeared to be a horizontal twin. I was just curious if I was seeing things or if someone might be able to confirm what I saw. It also looked to be late 70's early 80's style.

    650

Likely a CB650. There are thousands of them out there.

It did not appear to be an in-line two, or four, and also was not a triple

Could be the 650 they made in the early 80's. It was a v twin, ala Moto Guzzi, and it later became the Silver Wing. My buddy in Maine had one. Kinda like a little Gold Wing. I believe it was the CX model.

Hey John I have seen the CX500 and the CX 650 Custom here, Australia.
Strange sort of motor by appearance.

The CX is a 'lateral' V-twin (cylinder hitting each of your knees) as opposed to the 'Harly' style V-twin (one cyl pointing at your headlight, one cylinder pointing at your crotch).

                  Honda CX

Not only did the motor look odd it felt odd. When you bliped the throttle the motor wanted to twist like a V8 in a car , only noticiable at stop lights but a wierd feeling as the bike wanted to lay down to the right side LOL.........MITCH

I think that was called the NX650 Hawk. I've seen a few but I'm not 100% sure on the model number. I think it was a DOHC for and aft V-twin and very Ducati like.

NX... a naked thingie, v-twin, shaft drive, didn't have much success. They werent very reliable.
