    81 xs11 special idle screw o'ring and washer

    Im in need of 1 set of idle mixture screw washer and o'ring. Anyone have experience with the MikesXs BS34 III washer kit- part# 48-5012, is the correct size for the bottom of the mix screw. Read some conflicting threads. Any carb guys that can help. Mikes xs is currently out of stock of #48-5012 and i will order them if they are correct and they come in. He also carries the idle mix screw that comes with the washer and o'ring part# 48-5011. i could order that if its the correct mix screw. looks silver in pix and my 81 SH has brass. Thanx

    I recently ordered 4 of the screws (48-5011). They are the right ones, and they are brass. Don't know why they are silver in the picture.

        Thanx Kit, for the 411 and the welcome. great to know there are other xs11 dudes out there. hey to everyone. great site to talk shop. just pulling my 81 SH out of storage after 10yrs! cleaning the fuel system and carbs. i've got a Kerker 4/1 that gives the BEAST some great sound. cant wait to get her back to life! your confirmation saved me. Thanx again brother.

          My pleasure.

          Two suggestions for you:
          1) Put the year/model of your bike and any modifications in your signature. Makes it easy for people to see what you have, and therefore provide answers specific to your bike, and saves you from having to remember to put it in each question you post.
          2) We love pics of people's bikes! Show the old girl off!

            Those little o-rings end up stuck down the pretty hard sometimes and it has nothing to do with being cranked down hard, just with being down there a long time and ethanol in the gas partially melting them. I had to use a dental pick to get them out of the carbs on my XS400 (same carbs, never has the towers opened, still had the caps on, I'm second owner) cause they were welded in the bottom of the tower well. Couldn't get it to idle no matter what. Put new o-rings in, and just took a little adjusting and it idles like it did 22 years ago when I got it from my Uncle (the first owner).

              Guys, how do i add info on my signature and pix. im having difficulty navigating around this site to edit info, and im no PC rookie. id like to share my 81SH Black Beast that i reconstructed (removed fairing, guages, etc) with parts and mods from my 78 that was stolen and tossed into Lake Michigan, to all parties interested. shes been in storage since 2000 and is in excellent condition. i plan on selling her soon. shes a beauty! need some assistance with this site.

                near the top look in blue bar for User CP - click on it and select Edit Signature where you can edit and add details about your bike.

                To add pics to a post you need them sponsored or hosted on a photo site - I use google picasa but you can use flickr or whatever free account you have.

                There is a test forum for practicing getting your pics embedded right - there are also forum sticky threads on how to do this so I won't repeat.

                Welcome - learn enough about your bike here and before long you won't want to be selling.
