    Hey anyone know about these bikes?

    found out someone I know has one, he never learned to ride and, seemed eager to sell it.
    From what he said it ran three years ago.
    I was looking on E-bay and low mileage clean ones fetch in the $1500 to $2000
    Area.

    Rick,
    If you talking a late 80's something night hawk they are great bikes. Really not to much goes wrong with them. Good power for they're size. 75 hp. They have a drum brake on the back side. The only negative I've ever heard any one say is that they are boring (because nothing goes wrong with them) and that they should come stock with the milk crate luggage rack.
    The thing that is a little confusing is that you put 1989 cb750f. Either way, it's still a fun bike with decent power.

        Picked up a CB750F a few weeks ago my self.
        Going through it as it's been parked for a few years.

        You'll need another shim tool. Shims are 25mm I believe.
        Keihin carbs, pay attention to the Jet locations. Air valves need to seat correctly to run right.

        The weak link on these is the charging system. Either the rotor, stator or Rec/Reg. I had a CB900F a few years ago that the stator went out on. Couldn't see replacing it with a used one and have it fail, so I had it re-wound for $120. Worked great. So far everything is working on this one.

          Great, reliable. Not nearly as popular as the SOHC CB750's for customization, since Honda had started to dedicate the bodywork a little more, but still a reliable and quality machine for sure!

            My first bike was a '79 CB750K. Great bike. The F model was the super sport or something -it was supposed to be the performance one. I had an F engine in my K for a year or two until it lost compression. That's when I came across my XS11.

            One thing about them... I've heard from a few people that the oil channels that lube the camshafts are really small, so if you're not one to keep up on oil changes, dirt in the oil can plug those and you'll toast your cams. That was one of my first mistakes with bikes, and it cost me my engine.

            I'm rebuilding that one right now. Great handling bike, good gas mileage (43 mpg is what I was getting), and it was really comfortable to ride. Took it down to Deal's Gap and had a ball.

            I've got all sorts of extra parts for the CB750 in the garage. If you decided to buy it, let me know if you want/need any parts.
