Does anyone know what year/model Yamaha begins with 3J2? It is a tripple, slotted rotors but straight spokes, looks like a 3-cylinder xs11 in many ways. Reminds me of an '81 Special. Has oil cooler, shaft drive, twin exhaust. I suspect it is an 850, but would like to know.....

Garage that tows abandoned vehicles has it, is in process of getting clear title, doesn't know bike or history, thinks it might be worth $300.00. 42K miles, looks OK, is complete and turns over by kick starter. Thinking of making an offer on it.

Hi Jerry, its an 1980 XS 850 G, came in ruby red, black, or blue , found it on the xs triple site. HTH ..............MITCH
