    V65

I live with low poplution amount but knew two guys the 750 - noproblems as far as they were concerned. But then again some guys only do the odd Sunday ride & put low kms per year. There is another one my area (haven't meet the guy yet) but it looks like it went through hell & he drives it around all the time. I really looked into the V65 as I almost bought one b4 finally finding my MNS. I think will all the old ones 750 & 1100's still around it must say something for the hardyness of the bike. I know the 1100 is a monster. There is a website for these bikes - I lurked there alot to find out about them. The major problem was with oil to the top of the motor - but a mod kit can be bought for around $250 (used to be a dude from the west coast in Canada I think) & that stoped the oil problem. This info can be found from the net or maybe through the magna wed site. Also, alot of them just run with out the thermastate for the rad as it seems to only kick on at the last possible moment b4 it gets way too hot. Oh, & there was also a shim deal with the valves that had to been done quite often to keep all in good order. I almost bought a V65 with 14,000 km on it that literally looked brand new from original owner - he wanted 4,000 & i didn't want to spend that much on an old bike. Ends up I put more than that in the one I got now, oh well. Hope this helps you out - thats about all I know - I still would love to get a V65 some day - but hey with reality I'ma doughtin it. - Dan

I have had several of the early 80's V4's.
      1985 V65 Sabre
      1985 700 Sabre
      1985 V30 Magna,(wifes)
      1983 V45 Magna

They are good bikes and pretty fast.
Here is a link to a great forum for the V4's.
