Big deal, you gonna post one here or make us all go to .org to look at the bike. If ya want to show off something do not tell people they have to go to another site to see it. Post up a pic of the Xs you have for sale as well.

        Sounds about right.
I dont have a Photobucket account. This is the only sight im on where i have to post pictures elsewhere.
I know you hate them and they hate you.
I dont care, keep that between you.

Crazcnuk has a picture of it. It's his old bike. Ive done work to it since i got it as it was barely running when i got it.

The owner/builder is a body man at a dealership. He built the bike for show n go.
Traded it for a new truck. I'm buying it off the dealer, theyre losing out but theyve showed it for a couple years and it's time to sell.

            that's nice

It looks like a head turner Rsty. Congrats.

I feel special since you made the photobucket account just for me

You are selling the 80 Special and 79 Parts bike together or is the 79 already gone?

I guess it doesn't matter - I am always too far away...

Ah, as I suspected, I've seen this bike before....

It's been for sale for a while, at least the past year. The asking price was way high, so there weren't any takers. That's why I'm curious as to what you paid...

As to the '$33K invested', either prices in Canada are about double compared to the US, or somebody bent this guy over bad, real bad. Don't get me wrong, it's a very nice looking bike (don't care for the paint job, but that's entirely a personal thing, so don't take offence), but there isn't that much truly 'custom' on it; most of the bits are bolt-on catalog items. The dealership must have loved this guy. If I couldn't duplicate it for about half of the supposed cost, I'd turn in my tools...

With that said, I am a Sportster fan (and owner), and if the engine mods were done right, this should have about the same max power as an XS, although the power curve will be a lot different. I will note that you're giving up some power with those pipes (probably around 10 hp; so many Harley exhausts are designed for looks, not performance... ) but a 'better' exhaust can be had for about $500 or even less.

I'll also note that within the HD 'fraternity', being a Sportster owner is only slightly above owning a 'other' brand, so don't expect to welcomed with fully open arms. A lot of the BT guys don't have much respect for the Sportster (offer to race them... that usually shuts them up) as it's a 'girls bike'. The fact that the most popular model among women is the 'Fat Boy', well, ponder all the possible freudian meanings in that....

Anyway, enjoy the bike, and if you want to hang out with other Sporty owners, try here: http://www.sportster.org

"I know you hate them and they hate you." I know of not whom you speak. I am a member of both sites and actually saw your pic before I posted this, I just thought you were being very unfair asking others to accomodate you in your wish to promote the .org site.

Crazcnuk may very well have a picture of it but it is not him who has the bike for sale is it...And i highly doubt that Craz would sell something hardly running!

I know many bodymen at dealerships that know bugger all about bikes. So how does that qualify this guy?

You just sounds to me like a guy that has too many irons in the fire and does not yet know which is hot.

Go ride your Hardley and play with the kids on .org, but if you want to be part of this site then be one, not just a mouthpiece. JMHO

                    1. I did get Photobucket, apparently i linked the pic wrong.

                    2. Im not promoting anything, Why are you being an ass? I simply said where the pic could be seen as i had no way of putting it up here.

                    3. I bought the bike off Craz knowing it had issues. Would hardly start, liked to just flood. Once running it didnt like to idle or run around town. On the highway it ran better. Major carb issues, Problems solved now.

                    4. The bodyman did the bodywork while a local shop did the engine work. The bodyman has many other Harley's and a couple Metrics that he's built and at the moment he's building a Harley Drag bike.
                    Think that may just qualify.

                    5. Iron's in the fire? Because i bought a bike? Lets figure that out.

                    6. Didn't know those guys were children. I posted this here because i enjoy this site also and wanted to share my new ride.
Did not really expect this level of ignorance because of it.

My wife joked and said i better not get the "Harley Attitude".
It's the "XS Attitude" thats really starting to stink around here.
                    Im a Motorcycle owner.

You sound like the mouthpiece, spouting off. As far as the "You hate them, they hate you", The .com vs .org crap im not part of.
Boo hoo. I really dont care.

You know, ive tried a few times to get along in here but get **** on.
Ive tried to be friendly, joke around, be helpful, etc.
This is the usual XS attitude in here.
I can see im not welcome. Took long enough to get the picture.

Hope ya'll get this fixed. This used to be a nice place.
                    Now it's predijuce and ignorant.
                    Im out.

Well, that went well, didnt it. All the guy did was buy a Harley for chrissake, whats wrong with that?? His .org reference may have been a little ill advised but it seems to me that this whole .org / .com thing has driven some of us into sensitivity overdrive.

I'm with Kat on this one, time to get over it and move on.

I'm apalled at the lack of comraderie and brotherhood on this site. We all share the commonality of riding two wheels. Some might typify the other site at bieng "childish" but theres no lack of it here either. Rather dissappointing to say the least.
Now a HD is not exactly my cup of tea but it matters not what anyone else thinks. You got it for you not us...Enjoy it for what it is.
