Hmmm I was just thinking that it might be a v 4 motor ...at first i thought it was a Virago motor...but looking closer it looks like a V4...so that would make it a vmax as my other guess

Looks like a twin to me...and the my first guess is it became a Virago but after looking closly I would see it becoming a v-max. Hmmm...it is chain driven....interesting. I think im going to stick with my intuition and say Virago.

It looks like it could have been a 920 chain drive Virago or a Honda Shadow. The V-Max and the venture are DOHC and that bike is SOHC....

                      And the answer is...

This going to blow some minds....

It's not a Honda, Kaw, or Suzuki....

Actually, if the rumors are true, it may be the Virago....

                      Are you ready?

                      Are you sure you're ready?

                      Ok, here it is....

                      [IMG][/IMG]

Yep, your eyes aren't deceiving you; it says 'Harley Davidson'. I photo-shopped the logo off the first pics for 'stealth'. According to the caption on these, this V-twin was developed in the early/mid 70s as a possible replacement for the iron Sportster. If you look closely, the fronk forks/wheels are standard items pulled off the then-current Sportster (which also explains the chain drive). Harley refuses to comment on projects that don't see production (they also did a DOHC V-4 project), so the 'official' reason for non-production never came out. But a rumor circulated that a disgruntled employee stole a set of plans and shopped them around, and Yamaha made a deal; Harley then killed the bike.

So it may very well be a Virago precurser.... sure looks like one.
