  • Air shock rebuillding

I've got a set of air assisted rear shocks that I took off SWMBO's Kawasaki KZ550.. replaced them with an aftermaket set. Does anyone know if the air shocks are rebuildable? One side seems OK, but when I pull the dust boot or gator down on the other one, it is covered in oil. I'm interested in keeping it as stock looking as I can.

You might want to check with a shop that does a lot of Motocross work, they are always rebuilding shocks. Chances are though a new set may be cheaper than a rebuild. I got a 93 GSXR shock that was rebuilt, cost over $200 for rebuild, not including the price of the used shock. (Was a complete rebuild, new spring, new stainless nitrogen line, new seals, recharge, etc.) This was for only one shock. Most of the factory shocks are low bidder junk and are sealed units that are not suitable for rebuild.
