  • FZ-1 output shaft replacement

    Hi folks,
I'm wondering if anyone here has any experience replacing the output shaft on a 2004 (Gen 1) FZ1? It's the shaft the front sprocket mounts on. He says the splines that engage with the sprocket are stripped. I'm wondering if there's a secret I haven't found on the web yet on how to replace that shaft w/out splitting the cases? Or, if there's another fix like sleeving the shaft and using another, oversize?, sprocket?
Any thoughts and ideas are very welcome. These are very nice bikes. My neighbor bought one which I'll be test driving this afternoon. He bought it about three hours north of here and had nothing but good things to say about the ride back on the superslab.
