  • Quick Mikuni Carb Question

I'm cleaning and rejetting my carbs and noted a small round silver cap inside on the edge of the housing across from the main/idle jet. Is that where the pilot air screw is. I've read that there may be a need to pop the cover off to get at it. Am I find just leaving it as is?

    Thanks!

    hi Tony,
Had to have a look at a spare carb
to see what you were talking about,
that plug is fixed and cant be removed,
its there to block off a drilling during manufacturing.

    hope this helps.

    was just reading ur signature
are you talking about xs1100 carbs?
either way the above is still correct, but depending
on the model the mixture screws are different depending on the model.

      Carbs on an XS400

      Hey Pete,

Naw, I sold my XS1100 about 10 years ago. Hard to believe it's been that long. But a friend gave me an 82 XS400 twin that I'm sorta ratting out. It's the Mikunis on that bike. The carbs look real clean inside and I have all the parts in now, so I hope to get the carbies back on tomorrow and get her on the road.

It's not an 1100 by any means, but it's nice to be back on a bike again(and free is free!). I'll post some pics when it's about done.

      Cheers!

        No worries Tony,
I havent seen the carbs on that model bike,
        but there probably similar.

i reckon any bike is better than no bike at all.

let us know how it goes.
