    Mystery Bike Question.

A friend of mine was just given a bike. The person that gave it to him said that he thought it was a 1977 xs700 or 750?? It has metal side covers if that narrows it down. Was there only one or two years with metal side covers??

some pictures, engine numbers, how many cylinders/pipes would be helpful. From what you've discribed, it could be a "moonbeam special."

      Hi Dan,
from what I remember of the movie, Fast Charlie's Moonbeam Special was a single and the show was set in the 1920s.
If the mystery bike is a Yamaha at all, it's most likely an XS650, they had tin sidecovers up to 1979.
