  • Some mods on my xs 400 twin

Decided to do some easily reversible mods (most of them anyway) on the 82' XS 400 Heritage Special I just inherited. Wish I would have taken some before pics.

First, I de-badged the bike. The tank badge has been replaced with a nice stainless steel flame treatment (to cover the holes).

Second, I painted the seat grab rail flat black and wrapped the handle behind the seat with black friction tape.

Third, I wrapped the handlebars with black friction tape.

Fourth, I am painting the chrome chain-guard flat black (the fenders are already black).

I'm going black but leaving some chrome (don't want to get too carried away!). I'm contemplating wrapping the headers with black header tape and painting the mufflers black.

    Maybe I'll post some pics.
