  • 1981 750 Seca Instrument panel

My instrument panel has some rust that can be seen around the guages. Has anyone been able to separate the metal piece from the face of the instrument panel without destroying it? If so would you let me in on the secret? I'd like to repaint it. Gary

It comes apart. The one I just sold had been painted with 55mph highlighted in red. You ned to take it off the bike to get to the screws on the back, then you can access the ones holding the front cover to the gauges.

      Instrument panel

I got all that apart but what I'm trying to further separate is that piece. I need to remove the lense from that piece. In mine there is a thin piece of metal that is painted flat black just under the lense. Mine has surface rust. Gary

Misunderstood what face, I was thinking that actual number face.
I had to find a replacement top for another one I had on a Seca 550. The lens was broken and like you said, held in by that trim.
