Kikker 5150 hardknock bobber

So I was sittin in the parking lot of the 7-11 by my house today and this guy pulls up on a Kikker 5150 hardknock bobber. It caught my attention because it sounded like a 650. He told me it was a 49cc and he got 100 mpg! I was really impressed with the build of these kits and the sound. They look small in the pictures on the web but seeing one up close, it's about the size of a 650 bobber.

What did they do? Forget to put the hollow bits inside the frame tubes?

Not sure, but it's a pretty good size bike. It sure don't sound like no 49cc'er. But at 49cc's I think it's built more on style than on speed. A top speed of 57mph isn't too shabby either. It would be perfect for my son who is 15 and ever since I got this current XS Eleven now he wants a bike too.

You do have a point. But the guy told me he mainly rides it back & forth to work to save on gas. Around town it looks like it'd be a blast.

Not after you see this video. This guy at 6'4" 345lbs. has got me beat by 4" and 45lbs!

A friend gave me this bike awhile back, it had a 49cc in it also!!!! It only had one gear and would do about 27mph with little old me on it, according to the cheesy speedometer.

Let's just say that it does almost 30 mph with me on it and I weigh 145-150 lbs, I can't imagine how fast it would go with a 2 1/2 year old on it!!!!!!!! Probably not safe unless they have a lot of gear on, full face helmet, Joe Rocket jacket and pants, gloves, etc......... You never know, he might be good like this kid.

i think i could install a throttle twist stop for it, or a restrictor of some sort..

but you have to start learning sometime..

do you remember how "Safe" your toy's where growing up?

metal toys to play with that alway's had sharp edges, every kid had a pocket knife, alot of kids had old dirt bikes that they couldn't reach the ground when they stopped. blah.. blah... blah... the list is a mile long.. but you get the point.

I don't want my kid to get hurt, but i want him to realize there are consequences to his actions.

but anyhow.. i was kidding at the moment, when he's 5 i'll get him something to ride. 2 1/2 is a bit young..
