I've got an '03 Yamaha V-Star 1100 Classic that I bought to supplement my stable of XS's. This is the first V-Twin engine I have ever had, and I am noticing a vibration when speed gets up to around 62-65 mph. Feels like it's coming from the engine. I took it in to the dealer, and he basically told me this was normal for this bike and for most all V-twins in general. Not being satisfied with that answer, I've asked around and have been told that since this bike has two carbs, it is especially important to check carb sync. If the sync is out, it will vibrate they say. I've set the sync and that helped somewhat, but I still feel this buzzing at speed. I say buzzing because it is more of a buzzing or tingling than a sure nuff vibration (very uncomfortable and annoying). For you guys that have V-twins also, is it normal for them to buzz/vibrate like this? Do any of you have any suggestions of other things I might look at to try and pinpoint where the vibration is coming from. I'd appreciate any feedback from you. Thanks.
