need help have gasket question

This is probably a stupid question but I am putting my motor back together and now I am getting ready to put the head on. The issue is there are some O rings that came with the gasket set that I don't know where they go. The first is 4 red large o rings labled cylinder o rings and the others are small black ones labled valve o rings. I don't remember seeing these when I took the motor apart.

The large red ones are the cylinder base o-rings, you didn't see them because you didn't remove the cylinders. The small black ones are the valve guide o-rings. Ditto, you didn't remove the valve guides.

I think the 4 large red ones fit over the the cylinder liners that sit inside the upper crankcase half. Check to make sure you remove the old ones. I think the others fit over the large crankcase studs, that hold the cylinders and head on.

Oh thanks guys I didn't dig that deep into the engine just tranny and head and I didn't replace the guides engine didn't have but 11000 on it PO didn't know how to drive
