  • Sickness

OK, its official. I have a sickness. In the last 2 weeks I have bought a 1984 Venture with 58000 kms, a 1983 XJ650J with 17,000 kms ( this one is a jewel only paid $900)and a 1985 Honda Shadow 750 with 31,000kms. All are in great shape except the usual maintanance issues. the honda needs a stator account not charging but thats no big deal. I still have the best part of an 81 standard in the garage including a spare motor. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

I too have an 84 Venture I am trying to find parts for.

          Check out Venture.org, great site.

Once I get all the fairing pieces, I will be almost done with mine.

I am haveing the same issue. The more you look into the fairings on these bikes the more work you find. I found some 5 minute epoxy at walmart that seems to hold well. I have fiberglassed behind on some crutial parts but the glue holds better than anything I have used before. Thanks for the link, I already knew about that one another is:

            Lots of good info there.

Geez Dan... you're supposed to remove the stems and seeds BEFORE you roll it

As for your sickness cokeman? I'm sorry to say that it has no cure... sometimes getting married does that... but at our house... it germinates...

I'm inclined to say that if I could afford it, I would definitely be down with that particular sickness, not enough bikes in the world to satisfy me

I know I've got it too

Even though I am down to 2 bikes...the thought of finding an '81 Venturer or anything else is an ever present urge. Plus all the things I am planning to do to my present XJ1100...it never ends
