I'm not a big Harley fan, but my brother loved his 2001 Road King.
Last Tuesday while he was a work, someone broke into his place and
made off with his Harley, two pistols, digital camera, leather riding
gear, spare house and car keys. Funny thing was, he had two helmets
sitting on a shelf above the bike which they didn't take. We have a
helmet law here in Oregon so it seems to us they must have known
about his bike and brought their own helmets. Probably full-face.
And to top everything off they stole his 2000 Jetta the next night
while he was asleep!!!!!! The police found it the next morning in a
ditch the next morning. The police called before my brother even
knew it was gone!! Don't know if it's related, but someone knocked
on his door last night at midnight. He took his newly purchased pistol
with him and peeked out the peek hole in the door. Some girl he didn't
recognize was there and he thought he could see someone standing off
in the distance. He called the cops, but didn't open the door. By the
time the cops got there nobody was around. He had a lot of very expensive
stereo equipment in his house which he thinks they may be trying to come
back for. He at least got his Jetta back, and the cops found his 9mm in
a car during a unrelated traffic stop. Maybe able to get some lead from that.
He paid close to 20k for the bike new, and has added over 5k in mods. and
accessories. He's so PO'd right now he can't hardly sleep. Let alone feel
safe and secure in his own home. He's already moved all his electronic
equipment out of his place and is looking for another place. My guess is the
bike is now in pieces. But if not, fellow riders in the PNW, California, or
western US might keep an eye out for his bike. It's a 2001 Road King.
The color is blue/teal and silver. Lots of chrome, floor boards, plexi-glass
windshield, custom seat, custom pipes, and matching hard bags.
OR license is M518245. Phone for detectives is 541-917-7686. They note
in the newspaper that person who stole the bike should be considered armed
and dangerous. I've included a couple of pictures of the bike. My gut
feeling is the bike is already in pieces, but you never know.
