So the daughter cons me into going to pick a pool table she got for free (I have the pickup). Great, I figure. Gotta drive 20 miles into the boonies to bust a nut picking up a pool table. Find the house, load the pool table (just kinda cracked a nut). I spy a three wheeler hidden in the weeds. "Whats up with the 3-wheeler", I ask. Her son parked it there a couple of years ago and he gone off in the world, "if you want it, take it", she says. I truly bust a nut pushing the pool table up enought to make room for the three wheeler. "You want a mini-bike?", she asks. "Lemme take a look at it". Old school mini-bike, B&S engine, shocks front and rear, jackshaft drive. I strap it to the tailgate. Not a bad trip I figure. ATC 200 Honda, engine pulls thru. Gonna do the carb, fuel tank, change fluids things before trying to fire it up. Mini bike has about 2lbs compression. No problem there, I have a 5hp GX160 Honda motor laying under the workbench. The way I figure it, "somones gonna get hurt!!!".

those honda atc's are tanks and run forever. i had a 86 honda atc200s and a 85 honda atc250sx. both sat for years. paid 200bux for them. cleaned'm up and they ran great. gave the 200s to my buddy and he still has and runs it. just sold my 250sx last year for 200 bux because i lost interest in it when i got my quadsport.
i do miss it tho. that thing would go threw anything, mud, water, whatever. hit the water and lean back and the rear end will sink down in and pull throungh the mud as the front tire floated up the the top of the water.
just got to learn to lean with it in the turns or you'll flipem quick.

I just got a ATC200E month or so ago and i can vouch that they will go a lot of places most quads wont and they love the water . Mine has the hi-lo tranny so it MOVES like 65-70mph. But same as BigB was saying make sure you lean a LOT.

Once I get it running, I have a plan to graft the drive train to a adult size, off road go-cart w/cage. I had a hip replaced in '98 and have found out the hard way that they can dislocate if twisted or turned hard in the wrong way. Dislocated hip in the boonies is a new adventure in pain. I figure a well built off road cart w/cage and harness should be pretty harmless. Then my wife can take 911 and the orthopedic surgeons phone off of speed dial. The mini-bike will go to the grandson, his mom will make use of the phone numbers.

forgot to add 3 wheelers will float if u have the right tires on them. the 200s that i gave to my buddy used to have them balloon type tires on them. one day we filled the tires up to like 30psi each so he could float it across a pond. well it worked, it floated across the pond but upside down because it was very tippy in the water and he flipped it over. haha

I would have taken the ATC and let the pool table for the next trip. I've been looking for one of those for Hunting.
