  • Dumb questions

I just put new points on the XS500. They came with a little packet of, what, hot chili oil? Anybody know what's the deal with that? Seems great without it.

Also, Schucks has their Brake Cleaner on sale, and I'm getting ready to change out all my pads. Now, I've done plenty of bikes and cars and have never used any cleaner. Just blow out the dust, put in new brakes. Is something sposed to be cleaned? The can looks like it was written for someone slobbier than me, which should not be.

Thanks if anyone can educate me!

THE LITTLE PACKET IS PROBABLY POINT LUBE. IT GOES ON THE CAM AND RUBBING BLOCK. SOME POINTS EVEN HAVE A LUBRICATING WICK THAT YOU WOULD PUT IT ON. AS FOR THE BRAKE CLEAN- THE CLEANER YOU GET THE SYSTEM THE LESS APT YOU ARE TO HAVE NOISES.
