eh gents, dont have time to sign up for another site to get info, so perhaps you guys can give me some insite.
Just got a line on a 76 kz-900 thats a full custom, stretched, airshift, and lots of custom work for only 800 bucks. Guess someones wife is selling ex husbands bike off... sucks for him, but a hell of a steal.
But last night when her and a neighbor tried to start it up, it had an upper oil leak. Thats all I know at this time, she just said that it wasnt pouring out, but it wasnt a drip either, and that it was coming from up higher on the motor, i'm suppose to look at in a few hours.
I'm not a bike mechanic, I mod out bikes that are already in good mechanical condition, like choppers/bobbers, and cafe's. (my xs-1100 will be complete in next couple days).
If i get there, and the bike runs good, meaning no knocks or anything, does this sound like this could be a fairly easy project??? Or am I likely looking at a total rebuild. I know the info is limited, but you guys would obviously know alot more then me with possible causes (neighbor said first impression was that it "may" be a clogged filter and being forced out the valve, she thought it was a cap missing. who knows, but if someone could take 2 minutes to tell me what to look for and common problems that would cause that, i'd be much appreciated.
