Wiring Harness material

I am cleaning up my 1974 CT-70 that is in awesome shape and survived the years. What I am looking for at the moment is the wiring harness material that goes to the handlebar switches. The black plastic outer coating of the wiring has basically disinigrated over the years and PO put some kind of accordian plastic cover on it. It has a slit down one side and you twist it on and around the wiring. It looks horrible at best. I was looking to replace the switches assembly with the wire harness atached but can only find one side. The side with the Kill switch/high low beam is not even close to matching what I have an want to keep it original. Switches work great so it is just a cosmedic thing I am trying to do.

Is the outer plastic covering for wiring harnesses available and if so where would I look. I know this is a long shot but all of you are very resourceful and may have done something similar on their XS1100.

Sometimes I pull used covering off my old parts if it is still useable, but most of the time I use black heat shrink tube. Sometimes I shrink it and sometimes I don't depending on where it is going. Although it is slightly duller in color, it comes in various sizes and it's available at hardware and auto parts stores.

Hey Brian,

I did a search, but all I could find was some GREY colored Plastic Non-Split wire loom material, nothing in black. The grey stuff was SMOOTH, not corrugated like the other loom stuff, and it's not shrink wrap, but it's also not black??

The shrink wrap stuff I've used seems to be rather stiff after it is shrunk!? Good Luck!
