  • 1993 GTS1000A or 2007 FJR1300?

I have always wanted one of these Sport/Touring bikes with the forkless front suspension.Does anybody here know anything abt these bikes? Are they the prerunner to the FJR1300s'?I am in the market for another sport/tour bike to add to the stable.I am trying to compare the GTS1000 to the FJR1300...aside from the obvious price differences...Thanks for all comments...

They are both great bikes. Keep in mind that the FJR1300 is from a very much younger generation and therefore cannot be compared to the the GTS1000. Also the GTS1000 is a touring bike, the FJR1300 is a sport tourer with 50% more hp and torque and far better handling both at low and at high speeds. I've had them both. Ideal is to buy them both , a friend of mine did and depending on his mood he picks the one or the other.

Already have an ST1100 for Sport/Tour although its emphasis is more toward tour...it can still do sport which is like me...so I suspect the GTS while is set up as a tour bike...can do some sport as well...I was able to get an '07 FJR1300 test ride and I did like it alot.I have never ridden a GTS...just not that many around...The thing abt the GTS is that RADD front suspension.Technology that is still ahead of the times...rare bikes indeed. Thanks for the comments...much to consider

That GTS was pure sex on wheels but is a rare bike, so parts / support could be non-existant .... check first.

The new FJR 1300 is of course new and seems to hae caught on well so there is lots of support out there, a very good bike.

Alot of great info at the GTS forum so thats where I've been. The biggest concern I have is that I've discovered the GTS is top heavy...not a trait I like...I already have a top heavy machine in my '95 Honda ST1100...luckily for me the ST has tipover wings and when there is a T.O. the wings keep the hard parts from contact with the ground...DAMHIK but I do...Those of you who were at the XSEast rally this year know what i'm talkin' abt... AS for the GTS tip it over and something expensive is gonna break...with my luck...oh nvr mind...
