My buddy GAVE me his 83 V65 Magna. Fast bike. anyone else ever owned one? I need to clean it up, and tap one hole thats stripped on the right side engine case, but other than that it is in great shape. New Kerker 4-1 exhaust and new Kevlar clutch. Oh yeah the right side cover is broken. First thing I am gonna do is replace the handlebars, ugly and uncomfortable.

V65 Magna. Not a bad rig. I never have owned one but have ridden with and gone up against with my XS. Close but no cigar for the Magna. Nuff with which one is faster. Ya might wanna look into the top end problem the V65 and 45 had with cam scuffing or something along those lines. I believe Honda came out some fix for the problem. I am sure there is an owners forum out there that could answer the question. The V65 was a real powerhouse but the top end durability problem led to alot of them dying and ending up on the side of the garage. This is also why they never made it big in the aftermarket for hot parts. Free is excellent!!!

Good bikes, but DO RESEARCH "top end oiling problems"!! There are a LOT of good bottom ends available, but heads are dear! I think Honda did a redesign on the oil delivery pipe, and that was the fix, but I'm NOT positive! I understand busy, so post a picture or two when you can.

I rolled my buddy on his 2008 F6r or something like that the other day . HE gets a jump on me at the light (I wasn't looking at the light) I didn't even get out of first when I passed him. I hit second and let off as I was already doing 70 in a 55. NO CONTEST. Anyway, Not gonna dick this one up as much as I did my XS

98 RWL horses on an old V-65 is great.

Great bike. I resurrected my friend's Honda Sabre 750, the Magna's little brother. Really like Honda and their V4 engines. Getting the carbs off is a pain because of the angle of the manifolds and such. On the V-Max the carbs drop straight down onto the manifolds.

The V65 is one I would really like to have in the stable someday. In fact, while I'm dreaming, I'd also like a GS1100, a KZ1000, a CB750, and a V-Max. One old school muscle bike from all the Jap companies.
