  • My New FJR-1300

I just bought a 2005 FJR-1300 today and I'm out of room in the garage. I'm probably going to sell my '81 XS-650SH, '81 XS-1100SH and '93 ST-1100 this spring and summer. Six bikes is just too many and Mary didn't like the idea of parking her car outside.

I found the bike in the local paper and it only has 1457 miles on it, so I guess I still have to break it in.

Sounds like a nice ride! It doesn't appear the PO got much time on it at all.

Depending on what you're wanting for it, I may be interested in that 650. PM me with the details.

      My XS650

I bought it new in 1983, it has 10,965 miles and it has been in a garage for almost it's entire life.

      New Metzler 880 tires
New handle bars (I still have the original buckhorn bars)
      New fork seals
      New stainless braided brake line
      New brake pads
New swingarm bushings, seals and pivot pin
      New alternator rotor
      New center stand
      Luggage rack and sissy bar
I have buffed and clear coated the aluminum (engine panels, fork lowers, grab bar, etc.)
This is a sharp bike and I hate to sell it but I never ride it even though it is licensed and was insured until today.
I'll email you a picture if you give me your email address.

I hope you like your FJR as much as I do.... I bought mine new in the fall of 03 (an 2004 model) and it has 118,000kms on it now.
Excellent two up touring machine. If you want you can run with the sport bike crowd.... if that is your cup of tea..

Tom, I like it so far. It handles very well, is comfortable to ride for a few hundred miles and has really good power. I'm planning on riding down to Suches, GA in a few weeks for a couple of days of riding the twisties with the XS-650 guys.
