  • "XSR1" - XS 650 to the limit!

    Fellow XSives -

I was perusing some XS650 links and looked in on 650motorcycles.com

    http://www.650motorcycles.com/

Someone there is taking an XS650 where no one has gone before, calling it the "XSR1". The engine will be punched out to 800cc, with a re-phased crank. All that resides in an R1 frame. Worth a look (but in my mind not worth the time or $$$). For all the trouble you might as well buy an SV650. OTOH, it would be interesting with an XS11 chain coversion engine.

Oh, yeah... while you're there check out the "Key West, Florida Fantasy Festival Art Images". There is some great airbrush work, including lovely examples of American and Canadian flags.

Shows my ignorance about modified XS650s. My experience was limited to one, stock '80 Special. Nice little bike, but I never imagined it would be a test bed for so many radical ideas. Maybe I need to get out more!

      Thanks for the insight.
