Honda CX 500

Picked up a dead cx 500 and should of looked first .
The engine was locked up ...
I got it free , but at clockwise rotation it binds up after a few turns.
it only frees up if I spin it counterclockwise . useing the bolt at the end of the crank and a socket by hand to turn it ....
Looks like I'll be popping it open to take a look , but what might be causing this ??

It feels like it grabs and jams up , turns fine backwards ....

It should tell you on the tank what is wrong with it!
It reads HONDA!

nothing is too harsh to say about a Honda LOL
This looks like a parter more and more .
Got it to fire , but it binds ...
Has a radiator on it , that is new . hmmmm
Must of got hot !!??

I'd like to take a crack at a Huricane , my cousin was smart enought to get rid of onet before he broke his neck !!

Have not taken more time on jetting the xs1100 gsxr carbs , yet
Been riding a lot though on the stockers ...

A local bike shop owner had to give up on a GL650 Silverwing awhile back (same engine, a bit bigger). He could not find any piston rings for it. He an excellent private shop mechanic in business for over 20 years, so it's not like he doesn't know what he's doing. You might want to check stuff like that out before you invest any money in it.

I'll pop the heads off and see what it looks like in there .
will part it if it needs parts ....

A friend of mine picked up a GL500 Silverwing and I've been on there looking for info and such. Pretty good place for that particular bike.
