    72 CB550 opions

Still looking for a cheap little bike for SWMBO. Obviously not the RD350 . I found 2 of these for sale and was curious if they are decent bikes. I seem to remember some discussion on some kinda old honda having head oiling problems. Opinions please...

I have both, '72 500/4 for work and 550/4 with sidecar.

I've owned the 500/4 for 23 years and give it hell, change the oil every 2000 mile and tension the camchain regularly and it works great.

If you change the oil often the cam will last a long time. The big problem with the cam is that they don't tolerate dirty oil at all.

Use good oil and change it often and it will last.
