Front pads on an 82 Maxim. Are the OEM sintered or not.

I would bet that they are NOT Sintered! I did some research on sintered a while back, and they are really mostly used for racing applications. They actually don't grab as well until they are heated up considerably which happens much more during racing applications. Also, the fine metallic parts in them can wear out the rotors faster as well!

Thanks alot, that would help to explain the poor braking I'm getting after changing pads. The master cyclinder checks out as does the callipar. (Yes, the sponge hole is clean and have just replaced both upper and lower brake lines and bleed the system.) It does appear that the new pads (bought off ebay) are sintered while the old ones were not.
