  • Yamaha rims?

I would like to put a MV85b15 tire on my bike its a 1985 Virago XV1000. The MV85b15 tire is a 150 width tire with 939 lbs load cap. Stock size is 140/90-15 with 739lbs load cap.The problem is the MV85b15 tire calls for a 3.5 to 4" rim. Stock rim is 3" Would this be safe to run? I have measures and it seems like it would fit and clear the swingarm and fender with no problems.I am trying to increase the load weight on the tire. I have added full tour pack and a 300lb rider. Let me know.

Since nobody else is chiming in, I'll give ya my 0.02. I would suggest going with the manufacuturers reccomendations. It probably wouldnt be an issue, But they set those limits for a reason. Is there no other tire that is a 140 with the higher load rating?
