can someone measure the mounting hole to mounting hole distance on a xs650

duh, sorry, fuel petcocks, wonder if the xs650 petcocks will plug and play on the xs 1100.

XS650 petcocks -NO GO

No. The XS650 petcocks will not interchange with the XS1100. They are bigger. I learned this from a single petcock equipped XS650.

Since may curiosity was aroused, I dug up an earlier tank equipped with two petcocks. They won't work either as they are a match to the first one I checked.

from what i read on mike's xs, is that they went from 2 to a single vacuum petcock in 1980 and they have a manual replacement,

with an overall small profile i'd say compared to my xs 1100's they are half the size, all i need is the mounting hole to

mounting hole distanse in mm to see if mike's aftermarket manual replacement will screw in, i'll take the heat if it does not fit and you all may benefit...

btw does the later tank with just the one petcock have a balance tube to capture gas from the right side? thanks

There is no balance tube in the single 650 petcock. The mounting holes are not spaced the same as the XS1100. I have the XS650 Special parked right beside the XS1100 Special. I also checked two other XS650 fuel tanks. MIKES isn't going have the petcock you need

c'mon, i'm still not convinced, 78-84 xs650 petcocks were vacuum, the one's on my xs1100 hit the airbox and carbs like diverray's ised too.

i have a very big suspicion they are xs650 oem, and looked in ebay to verify, they look the same, mounting hole to mounting hole distance in millimeter please. for the 79 thru 84 xs650

anybody, a breathing, pulsing body?

My XS650SK (1983) has a vacuum petcock. There is no "OFF" position on it. It has "RES", "ON", and "PRI". It doesn't look much like the one on my XS1100SG. It is physically bigger.

I'm away from home and I can't get a look right now.

I should mention that I bought my XS650 new from the dealer back in 1983. It still has the original petcock.

forget everything else, size, years looks, forget it ....just the measuring and thanks a mil!!

yes they are exactly the same as the xs1100 79 holes

I measured about 1.781 inches or 45.24 mm center to center on the mount holes for the XS650 petcock. 52.4 mm between the outside edges of the mount holes. How exact do you need me to be? I'm pretty close, but I just finished a 12 hr shift. I could send you a rubbing if it will help. I can send digital photos too. 12 hr shift again tomorrow.
