  • Super Naked - The new Kawasaki Z1000

    Hello Boys (and Girls) -

I just finished reading about Kawasaki's latest "Super Standard" entry, the Z1000.

    Here are the highlights:

    MC News - Kawasaki Z1000

Interesting, but looks to me like an aftermarket seat would be the first mod for comfortable riding. Thoughts?

    Bill,

Sorry man beat you to it.

Looks a little over styled to me, if it is going to compete with the FZ1, Bandit 1200, Speed Triple and the like. Proof is in the bike itself......if it goes like hell, does great power wheelies, is comfortable enough to drive all day, and is reliable.....then it is only as good as what I already own. Show me something new and I might want one anyway that seat looks like a stone, I never even looked at the seat.

So you did. I don't check in on a daily basis any more and forgot to check recent posts. I'm refocusing on flying and spend more of my online time on that hobby.

In any case, I kinda like the look of the bike, but my first thought was, "Will it be worth twice the price of a good, low miles, used Bandit?". Even with a new seat the bike won't be nearly as versatile as a B12 or even Kawasaki's own ZRX. There's no provision for a passenger whatsoever! More like a sportbike with standard handlebars. Oh, well...
