  • CB 900 Anyone had one?

I've got the chance to pick up an 81 Honda CB900 for $300, the bike's been sitting for 2 years, the tank is dry, but rusty, there's no oil goop on the engine, it's missing the side covers and mirrors, I can't turn it over because 1. no battery, 2. I'd soak oil into the rings before I even tried. It's got a 10 speed trans, which I have no idea about the flaws or strengths of. Anyone know any weak spots or problem areas I should look at on this bike? The guy who has it is holding it for me til monday, while I ponder whether or not to take on this project. Any knowledge anyone can share on this beast would be appreciated.
    Thanks

          Weak spots...

          Alternator.
Ripped Side diaphrams on the carbs causing a slow drop on the rpms.
Spark boxes (mounted near the battery), making it sort of hit a brick wall at 4500 rpm.
          Occasional problems with spark units.
Clutch ribbets loosening on the clutch housing, making the engine chatter at low rpms.
Bolts loosening on the spark advancer (Left side at the cranck shaft)
2nd gear problems (Dogs getting rounded off, resulting in bent shift forks)

For the rest of it, a very, very lovely bike... A friend of mine owns one. Actually the bike has five gears with a low and high gearing on the final drive.
