    Why yes . . . yes I do . . . and I am (bad thoughts).

    Bob that fender . . .

Think I will keep my Valkyrie Standard though. The Rune will be limited production and is expected to cost well over 22K . . . over $10,000 more than the 2002 Valk.

Honda seems to be taking lessons from Hardley.

I will be watching the evolution of this bike closely though . . .

      Hey Dragonrider, your opinion please.

I passed a Valk for sale in some guy's front yard today, stopped in on my way back. It was purchased in last year as a 2000 leftover, black all over, 3 into 3 pipes, he has the originals, saddle bags - not mounted - and a clip-on windscreen. 7,533 miles, very shiny. $10,500 OBO. The guy is buying a house and has to get rid of it.

      How's that price?

Not too bad. A new one bare is about $13K. The saddle bags and windshield add up. Came new with a 3-year unlimited milage warantee that is transferable, and extendable to 7 years for about $400.

If you are financing it . . . then with financing rates, you may be able to get a new one for similiar money, as the interest rates are way down for new ones . . . compare . . . but soon. New Valkyries are limited due to the Rune.

At 7K+ miles it is probably about ready for new tires . . . the OEM dunlops do not last too long . . . I got 10,000 out of my first set. Tires for this bike are expensive, you can mail order Dunlop Elites (much better tire) or Avon Venom R's (SUPER tire) for about $130 front $140 back.

Make sure you get the stock pipes, they will make more horses than those aftermarket 6 into 6 . . . they sound good, but eat a bit of horsepower. There are other aftermarkets that look good and do not . . .

I gotta tell you . . . these things ROCK!

Thanks, I was more curious than tempted. It is a fine looking bike, all black and chrome, but I sat on one at the dealer a couple of years ago, maybe that one, and if I remember it seemed that there was no room for my feet. Felt a little awkward. Otherwise felt good. I think I am still partial to the nekkids, definitly going to try everything out in the spring. I got spoiled by my 78E, big yet sporty, fast yet ride-able, and thanks to the forum and the other XS channel, easy to maintain.

I think I am still partial to the nekkids
Usually have mine nekkid . . . have a Memphis Fats windshield, which comes off/on in about 45 seconds.

I have a set of leather-like bags I use when touring, and bungie things to the back seat . . . but around town, and other riding where I do not need luggage it is all nekkid, all the time

                Rune

                Guys,
I sell for Honda. Not sure where you got the price quote, but I have pre-sold two of these. They are still on order and priced in the $35,000 range. They are not available for delivery and have not been final priced. While the Valkyrie is a great bike, i'm not sure about the rune. It appears to be all I would like in a new bike, but i still have not put my hands on one.

                  Hey Marty,
I bought a 98 Valk last month and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately I can't have 2 bikes around so my XS is now for sale. (I actually have 3 bikes now, also selling my wifes 01 shadow 600) Very hard desicion but hey, I had to do it.

Good for you! And too bad.

I am shopping around, can't decide between a V-Star / Road Star type, or the FZ1 / ZRX1200 type. And I can't keep two. Then I think about selling my old friend and I get all misty...

Beside that, we only have 5 months of riding here, tough spending a lot and getting a little.

Yes, a short riding season would make the desicion to buy new harder. We here in South Texas have pretty much a year round riding season so I can put alot o miles on a bike.
