  • Just showin' off my new bikes

Hey you guys I found some cheap triples in my area and I just wanted to show some pics.

The red one is a '79 XS750 special with 6800 miles on it. I bought it from a guy that lives close to me here in St. Louis for $300. I know, what a deal right? I had to do the usual carb cleaning/rebuilding, petcock rebuilds, and fluid changes and it started right up. This bike is now my daily driver, I have put 300 miles on it since I bought it and it runs like a top and pulls like a freight train (well for a 750)

The black one is a '78 XS750 special that I bought for $75 but that one has 38,000 mi on it and seems to have a few more issues. The engine makes a clicking sound, the timing seems to be off, and a few other issues that I won't bore you with but the awesome thing is that cosmetically the bike looks great (except for the seat) and all of the chrome is in good shape. I am looking foreward to diggin into that one a little more over the winter.

So bottom line I bought two triples. Both this summer for $375 and one of them is in great shape and the other just needs some work. Man I am just lucky I guess.

"They look awfully small to me... are they the mini-versions?"

(Better than the "Large" pictures I post, where you have to scroll the screen back and forth to see the whole thing)

      Nice buy!
