Anyone know where I can get aftermarket parts for my 1981 xs400?

.. what are you lookin for? there are no after market parts made specificaly for this model [at least not any more]. you can make universal parts work on your bike like handle bars, grips, individual air cleaners, stuff like that. i have found that a set of sportster mufflers are great for performance and they look real good to. if you are good, you could fit different seats but you have to have a good imagination and be handy with the tools.

I blew a hole in left piston and the OEM replacement is on national back order. I was hoping there may be a possibility to get something aftermarket and not have to wait until my parts come in.

.. keep an eye out on ebay or look around your local salvage yard, you should be able to score a set of pistons and cylinders anywhere for cheap.

.. ask this seller what condition the pistons and rings are in that came out of these cylinders, chances are he will through them in the box with the cyls for an extra 20 bucks.

If you're willing to bore the cylinders, odds are you can match up some pistons from another model or make.

Thanks for that link because that just saved me like $100 in parts and a bunch of hours in labor. I did end up ordering from that seller and that seller has many other parts that I needs.

                Thanks Again
