  • GSXR Color

Once I get my GSX-R1100 running right, I plan to paint it. My short list is down to one of the following two colors:

    Yellow

    or

    Red

I like the black trim on the yellow picture and would do the red the same way.

    So, whadya think? Suggestions welcome.

Oh, yeah. This is also a test of the IMG command on a different server than I tried before.

I gotta be honest, the yellow in my opinion looks better. Red makes a statement but Yellow just plain looks good. It is cleaner looking and more exclusive (meaning there are not as many yellow bikes as red).

I've gotta agree. Yellow makes a statement; "Check this out." Red also makes a statement; "What he said."

        Ducati yellow paint code!

Well, taking all the feedback into consideration (OK, both replies), I've decided to go ahead with yellow.

Figuring that Ducati represents all that is exclusive (and expensive) I searched the web. At Ducati.COM I found a PPG code for "Ducati yellow"

        PPG 473.201

Another site listed the Colorite code.

        Colorite 7560U

I wish Yamaha was this helpful with their color codes!

I also considered "Stealth Black", but there's no chance of being stealthy with that V&H exhaust. But really, Chris, I thought a known Ducati aficianado like you would have appreciated my notion of Ducati Yellow!

Actually, I wasn't aware of the the new Suzuki yellow.

Eeew! That's abuse! Oh, my mistake... that's a 'Busa. Who would DO such a thing (except JP, of course)!?

It's only a Suzuki, paint it whatever colour you want.... and besides, the only colour a Duc should be is red..... (with a white stripe)

                        I like the Yellow too!
But a few streaks of that red added might be the ticket!

forget the color, where's the test ride report?

Hey Bill, haven't heard much out of you the past couple days...

Does that mean you've been riding the NB10.5 and tweaking
                          carbs??

I'm dying to hear how that thing runs!

Alas, no. I'm in the midst of my heavy work week... lots of 12 hour days.

I'm anxious to get to it also, but the XS is having some lighting problems, so I'll have to deal with them first. But rest assured, as soon as I'm riding the GSX-R I'll give you a report, even if it's to say it runs like s**t!

If it runs like s**t, you could always paint it brown.......
